“We’re also encouraging all our customers to take extra care with electricals. Please always ensure you use the correct adapter and don’t overload plug sockets.”
How will I know if my safety check is due?
You’ll receive a letter from our contractors, PFL Electrical or The Wiggett Group, who are writing to all our customers, over the coming months, to introduce themselves. They’ll be in touch with you directly to arrange an appointment.
Examples of items we’ll check in your home include:
wiring
plug sockets
light fittings
fuse boxes
electric showers
extractor fans.
We’ll also check:
We may also carry out any repairs works needed to bring your home up to the required standard. Please be reassured that if there are any serious urgent hazards in your home, we’ll make them safe before we leave.
What can I do to help?
There are things you can do to help us:
report electrical faults as soon as you spot a problem
allow access for repairs and safety inspections
make sure your own appliances are safe, for example, kettles and hairdryers don’t overload power circuits with multiple extension cables
