Dawn Wightman, A2Dominion’s Director of Homes and Communities, said: “We’re sharing this information because we’ve had recent reports from customers who have been targeted.
“We also wanted to remind you that scammers are likely to contact you out of the blue and may pretend to be from an organisation you trust, such as a bank or A2Dominion.
“These scam calls may be automated, or from a real person. They may ask you for your personal information or tell you that you need to transfer money. If in doubt, end the call and refuse requests for information. Never give out your bank account details.”

Other scams could include:
Banks: Claiming there’s a problem with your card or account
HMRC: Claiming there is an issue with your tax refund or unpaid bill
Computer repair or phone provider: Claiming there is a fault with your computer, internet or phone line
Welfare calls: Pretending to be A2Dominion staff and asking for personal identity information
Letters from a company who says they work with A2Dominion: Asking you to confirm you are a customer by scanning a QR code
The government/Department of Work and Pensions: Saying that because temperatures are low, it has decided to provide winter payments so that you can ‘work and live in the cold winter’. You are asked to register by clicking on a link or calling the application hotline. Please don’t call the number or click on any links
If you’re worried you’ve been scammed, here’s what to do:
End all further communication with the scammer and block their number or email address
Call your bank immediately as they will check if you’ve paid a scammer accidentally or set up a standing order or direct debit
Report the scam to the police by calling 101. If you feel threatened or are in danger, call 999
Report the scam to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040
