That’s when one of our Income Officers stepped in and referred Ravi to our A2Dominion Pathways Programme, which offers personalised support to help customers get into work.
The 52-year-old was introduced to Yasmeen, our friendly Training, Employment and Project Lead, who took the time to understand the challenges he was facing. Through a series of one-to-one sessions, Yasmeen helped Ravi explore different job options, which included administrative roles, customer service opportunities and working as an exam supervisor in a local school.
One important step forward was putting him in touch with PurpleCV, a partner organisation that specialises in writing professional CVs. Ravi was matched with a CV expert, who worked with him to create tailored CV that made his experience stand out.
With a new CV and a clearer plan of action, Ravi’s confidence grew. He started to get more job interviews and eventually landed a role as a Programme Manager with an education provider, which was a big step forward in his career.
Ravi, who has been an A2Dominion customer for 17 years, said: “I discovered the Pathways employment programme by accident after becoming unemployed and falling into rent arrears. A financial advisor at A2Dominion referred me, and I was soon contacted by Yasmeen.
“She helped me search for job opportunities and prepare for interviews when my confidence was at its lowest. Our sessions were relaxed, informative and made a real difference.
“The additional support from PurpleCV was amazing—a real godsend. They, along with Yasmeen, helped me update my CV so my experience and achievements were clear and easy to read. I would highly recommend this service and think it’s an excellent initiative.”
