Are you celebrating Windrush Day this year?

Communities

We have grants of up to £1,000 available through the Black History Month 365 Fund, to support projects and events that celebrate black history throughout the year.

Funding is available to local voluntary and community groups. We want to help these groups organise activities that celebrate, educate and tell stories about black history and culture throughout the year. This round of funding is aimed particularly at groups organising events and activities for Windrush Day on Saturday, 22 June.

The ninth round of funding is now open for applications until Friday, 21 May, find out more and apply online.

We set up the Black History Month 365 fund alongside HACT in 2021, and it is supported by other G15 members including MTVH, Clarion Futures, Peabody, Sovereign Housing, Hyde Charitable Trust, and Network Homes.

Since 2021 we have:

  • Extended support to more than 50 Black and Minority Ethnic (BME)-led organisations and community groups
  • Given over £50,000 in grant funding to these groups
  • Delivered projects in 36 different communities
  • Enhanced relationships with housing association residents involved in the project
  • Improved relationships with local Councils for Voluntary Service (CVS)
