Who are your community heroes?

Communities

We are on the lookout for A2Dominion’s community heroes in our annual A2Dominion Community Awards.

Elmsbrook Neighbourhood Awards winners presented with their awards by the local mayor.

Many of our residents go out of their way to do things in their local communities such as, setting up community groups, working in communal gardens and supporting their neighbours with shopping and household tasks.

If you know someone who makes your community a great place to live then nominate them today for a A2Dominion Community Award 2023.

This year there are four categories to choose from, with awards for winners and runners up. Prizes include up to £100 in shopping vouchers and framed commemorative certificates and plaques.

Our Community Hero Award will recognise one overall winner, chosen from all your nominations. The winner will be presented with £200 in shopping vouchers, a framed certificate and a glass plaque. Judges will choose who they think gives the most outstanding service in their community.

And don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about you either! As a thank you for taking the time to nominate, we'll enter you into a prize draw for the chance to win a £50 Amazon voucher.

The A2Dominion Community Awards (previously Neighbourhood Awards) are a great way to thank those that go out of their way to make our communities special. The awards recognise our customers, and others, that make a real difference to our communities.

What do we need from you?

Is there someone in the community you work in who makes it special? Someone who helps others overcome challenges, especially in the last few years? Or someone who has always been an asset to their community?

You can nominate anyone in the community who supports A2Dominion residents not an A2Dominion staff member. They don’t have to be an A2Dominion resident themselves, but must support our communities in some way.

What are the categories?

Community Champion Award

This award is for someone who provides support to their whole community. Do you know someone who has set up and run a successful community activity?  Someone who's offered a specific service, making life easier for the community? Or someone who has always been there for others. Who is your community champ?

Good Neighbour Award

Someone who has offered extra special help to a neighbour. It could be a resident who is always on-call at a time of need. Or someone whose help has enabled a neighbour to live independently at home. If your neighbour is a superstar, nominate them today!

Outstanding Young Person Award

This one is for our younger heroes. It could be an individual or a group. They must be between 5 and 18 years old. Do you know a young person who lifts the spirits of others in their community? It could be that they’ve ran errands for neighbours. Or made cakes for their community. Someone who goes out of their way to talk to those who may otherwise have felt isolated. If you know a young person who deserves some appreciation, get nominating now!

Specialist Housing Champion Award

This award celebrates those who go the extra mile in our specialist housing schemes. This is for that ‘go to’ person. Someone who’s there in a time of need and always willingly to goes out of their way to help others.

How do I nominate?

Nominating someone for an A2Dominion Community Award couldn’t be easier. Just fill out our online form to tell us who you are nominating and in which category. If you would prefer, you can send a short video (no longer than 60 seconds) briefly telling us who you are nominating, for which award and why to community.investment@a2dominion.co.uk.

Remember, this is your chance to really celebrate your nominee. Tell us things like who they’ve helped and how they’ve made a difference. What have they done to improve people’s lives in their community?

Nominate someone for the A2Dominion Community Awards 2023.

Nominations close at 8pm on Monday 4 October.
