The committee plays a key role in shaping decisions about our homes, from maintenance and building safety to regeneration and new developments.

Do you have the skills and experience we’re looking for?

To apply, you must have professional experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • development

  • housing

  • regeneration particularly of complex properties, ideally the affordable and social sector.

We’re also looking for applicants who can demonstrate:

  • an understanding of the regulatory environment

  • a clear focus on customer-based outcomes.

You don’t need previous committee experience – your professional experience and resident insight are what matter. Support and training will be provided to the successful candidate.

What the role involves

As an Independent Committee Member, you’ll help ensure decisions about homes and investment are well informed, transparent and focused on residents.

You’ll be part of a group that:

  • Reviews how we invest in and look after our homes

  • Scrutinises plans for building safety and regeneration and long-term investment

  • Ensures decisions are based on good information and customer outcomes.

Time commitment and payment

Before applying, here’s what to expect:

  • Four meetings a year

  • Papers provided in advance

  • £6,000 per year to recognise the time and responsibility involved.

Residents at the heart of decision-making

Resident involvement is very important to us. In 2025, our first customer joined the A2Dominion Group Board, helping shape decisions at the highest level.

This committee role builds on that commitment – offering another way for residents to bring their lived experience directly into our governance.

Your responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Take part in committee meetings and discussions (four per year)

  • Read papers in advance and contribute thoughtfully

  • Ask questions and offer constructive challenge

  • Help provide assurance that:

o Homes meet required standards, including the Decent Homes Standard

o Building safety and home condition information is up to date

o Plans are realistic, well-managed and focused on residents

  • · Support decisions on:

o Repairs, maintenance and investment priorities

o Regeneration and development schemes

o How we manage and improve our homes over time.

You’ll be expected to work collaboratively, respect different views, and support decisions once they’re made.

How the committee works

Committee members are expected to:

  • Be honest, respectful and open

  • Listen to different perspectives, including those of residents and A2Dominion colleagues

  • Focus on the issue at hand and avoid making things personal

  • Use professional experience appropriately, without overpowering other voices

  • Keep information confidential where required

  • Act in the best interests of A2Dominion and its residents.

We’re committed to improving diversity in our governance, so we strongly encourage applications from people with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.

Why get involved?

  • This is a chance to:

  • Have a real voice in how A2Dominion is run

  • Influence decisions that affect homes and communities

  • Represent resident perspectives at a strategic level
