The pathways programme gives one-to-one tailored employment support to our customers who may be finding it difficult to get back into work.
Jessica is a single mum of three young children, with a background in customer service management but had been unemployed after a redundancy following the Covid 19 Pandemic. One of the biggest barriers Jessica faced in her job search was struggling to tailor her CV and personal statement. Yasmeen supported her to condense the information to make it easier to read, outlining her skills and experience. She also gave advice on how to adapt her CV to make it relevant for each role and company she applied to.
Jessica said: “Once my CV and personal statement had been updated, I found myself getting more interviews from my applications, so it made a substantial difference.
“Yasmeen was always on hand when I needed her help or had any questions, offering me mock interviews and techniques. This included adapting my examples to the relevant job descriptions. This improved my confidence going into an interview, having been out of work for so long.
“The sessions with Yasmeen helped me considerably. After job hunting for so long and being unsuccessful on many occasions, I had become very disheartened and deflated. Yasmeen was patient, reassuring and expressed a genuine interest in supporting my journey back to work.
“The programme helped me find the type of role I had been looking for, which happened to become available at A2Dominion. Yasmeen helped me with this opportunity from start to finish and I was successful in my application.
