Investing in Communities

When you live in one of our homes, you’re a member of a valued community. Last year, we reinvested £1.8 million into creating opportunities for people in our communities to learn, earn, have fun, be healthy, and get support and advice if they need it.

Support during tough times

Our Tenancy Sustainment team help people manage money and access financial and other support. Each day they help our customers sign up for Universal Credit, open bank accounts, or find ways to get on top of debts.

Socialising, fitness and fun

Community activities are important to our residents and neighbours. From Zumba classes to Knit & Natter sessions to gardening groups, there are many to choose from. We also host community events, like summer BBQs, where people can get to know their neighbours. And events initiated and run by local community groups that we support by providing funding or a place to meet.

Community lunches

Working with Surplus to Supper and Sunbury Neighbours we created the Community Lunch Programme to help support residents experiencing loneliness. The lunches have become very popular and the number of residents attending increases each month.

"It was amazing. The whole event was lovely, I can’t praise the staff and food enough, it was like going to a first-class restaurant. I was in awe of Leah’s  warmth and kindness and how she made the effort to introduce people to each other to start up conversations. I can’t wait for the next one!""

Working with others

Besides the profit we invested in our communities, we raised another £535,000 last year. By applying for grants and working with other organisations, we strive to make an even greater difference to people in our communities.

Viv's story

Our Business in a Box programme offers A2Dominion customers free, online workshops to help support and turn their business idea into a reality. We have already supported 40 residents in the first year, some of whom have gone on to start their business.

I am greatly appreciative of the self-employment support I have received from A2Dominion and the Love London Working programme. My business is now branching out into exciting new areas like online cooking lessons, and I couldn’t be more hopeful and excited about the future.
