Hot weather: staying safe at home

23 June 2026
Hot weather can affect people in different ways, and some people may feel the effects more than others.

With the hot weather continuing this week, we’re monitoring conditions and any impact on our services and residents.

We’re also prioritising urgent issues where the heat may be affecting your home.

A quick reminder

Warmer weather can increase fire and other safety risks, so it’s important to take a few simple precautions at home:

  • Do not use barbecues on balconies or inside your home

  • Keep fire doors and shared escape routes clear

  • Don’t release or remove window restrictors, as they are there to keep you safe.

  • Do not prop open your front door.

You can find more information on our Help Hub. Visit a2dominion.co.uk and search ‘fire safety’ or ‘window safety’.
