If changes are planned for your home, we’ll contact you directly and explain everything clearly, including what is needed from you, before anything happens. Not every home will need work straight away.
Paul Jenkins, A2Dominion’s Asset Director said: “Some homes lose heat more quickly than others, which can lead to higher heating bills, cold rooms and problems such as damp and mould.
“By improving how homes keep heat in and letting fresh air circulate properly, we can make them warmer, healthier to live in and more comfortable.”
What kind of improvements you might see
If your home is included in the programme, the work could involve:
Better insulation and a warmer home: Upgrades to help keep heat inside your home, reduce draughts, and a more even temperature.
Lower energy costs: Improvements to insulation, ventilation and heating systems so less energy is needed to keep your home warm, helping to keep bills down.
These works apply to the homes where we have a maintenance responsibility.
How we’re focusing this work
We’re starting with homes that need the most improvement, particularly those with a lower energy rating, so investment is targeted where it can make the biggest difference.
Our plan focuses on four main areas, all aimed at making homes warmer, healthier and cheaper to run.
1. Making existing homes more energy-efficient
We’re continuing to upgrade homes so they waste less energy and cost less to heat.
Since 2019, the number of A2Dominion homes with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)* rating of A–C has increased from 56% to 81%, and we’re building on this progress. An EPC is a simple report that shows how energy‑efficient a home is and how much it might cost to heat and power it.

2. Moving towards cleaner, more affordable heating
Over the next few years, older gas boilers will gradually be phased out across the UK.
