Saleh Mirza, A2Dominion’s Head of Building Fire and Safety, said: “Our priority is ensuring that our customers are as safe as they can be from fire and we fit fire detectors in our customers’ homes.
“We’re asking all residents to please test their smoke detectors weekly, or at least monthly, as they will alert you if there’s ever a fire in your home, giving you more time to act and follow the fire safety procedure for you building.”
Check your smoke detector is working
It’s your responsibility to test your smoke detectors and it’s important to do this at least once a month to check they work. This will help keep you and your family safe if there’s ever a fire in your home.
How to test your smoke detector
You can test your smoke detector by simply pressing the test button and holding it until the detector makes a loud beeping sound. If it doesn’t, you may need to replace the battery. Read our article for more information on how to test your smoke detector.
What to do if you don’t have a smoke detector in your home

Please note if you own your home as a leaseholder or shared owner, you are responsible for replacing smoke detectors.
What to do if there is a fire
