What standards can I expect from my home?

We want you to enjoy your new home. When you move in, it will be clean, safe and secure. Here's a little more on what you can expect.

Your home will have:

  • Working smoke alarms

  • Low-energy light bulbs

  • A TV aerial connection point

  • A gas and/or an electric cooker connection point or appliances if the property has appliances included

  • Child-proof restrictors on all windows on the first floor or above

  • Plugs for all the basins and sinks

We'll have:

  • Redecorated the kitchen and bathroom and repaired any broken tiles

  • Carried out gas and electricity safety checks on the heating system, electrics and appliances

  • Made sure all the doors and windows work

  • Checked and dealt with any leaks, damaged asbestos or other damaged fixtures

  • Cleaned your home

  • Cleaned your garden and cut the grass

Do I have contents insurance? As your landlord we cover the buildings insurance for your home but you’re responsible, under the terms of your tenancy, for insuring your contents. It’s always a good idea to shop around for a policy that will give you the cover you need.
