Social housing tenants - I need a home with more bedrooms - what can I do?

2 min read

If you need a bigger home for your family, you can apply to move to a different A2Dominion home through Housing Jigsaw.

Housing Jigsaw is A2dominion’s in-house, choice-based lettings website for affordable and social housing tenants who want to find a new home. The system allows you to bid for rental properties advertised by A2dominion.

You are usually entitled to 1 bedroom for:

  • Each couple

  • Each single person over 16

  • Every 2 children under 10

  • Every 2 children of the same sex under 16

Once a child is over 10, they are only expected to share with another child of the same sex until the eldest becomes 16.

Please note that social housing is in high demand and is allocated to the person or family in the most need. This makes the process fair but it also means it could take some time to be allocated a property.

You can also exchange homes with other social housing tenants through HomeSwapper.
