Everything in your home that uses gas should be fitted and checked by a Gas Safe registered engineer at least once a year.
Each year we arrange a gas safety check for your home. The safety check is free and takes about 40 minutes.
Arranging your gas safety check
When your next check is due, the engineer for your area will send you a letter with an appointment time. If it's not convenient, please arrange another appointment with them.
It's really important that you let them do the check. As your landlord, it's our duty to make sure your gas supply is safe, and as a tenant you need to let us have access to your home to do it. Regular checks help to prevent gas leaks, fires, explosions or carbon monoxide poisoning.
What's involved
The engineer will check and service your boiler, gas pipes and flues (the pipes that take fumes outside). They'll also check the connection to your gas cooker.
If we supplied the cooker, the engineer will check that too. If it's your cooker, you can get them to check it and any other gas appliances you've installed (we recommend you do!). There will be a small charge for this though. For more information, please contact us.
Once the engineer is happy that your appliances and fittings are all safe, they'll give you a copy of the Landlord Gas Safety Record (LGSR).
