The provider we use for our customer phone lines and Live Chat platform has experienced widespread technical issues this morning. We're working to fix the problem and the system is slowly coming back up. As a result, it may take you longer than normal to get through to us today. We're sorry for the inconvenience and will keep you updated.

Information about rent and service charge estimates

27 January 2025 - Services
We want to be clear and open with our customers about rent and service charge costs.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sending you a breakdown of your individual costs in the rent and service charge booklets for the period 2025/26.

The booklets will explain how your rent is calculated and estimates for how much it costs to provide services where you live, such as grounds maintenance, door entry systems and communal electricity.

Dawn Wightman, A2Dominion’s Director of Homes and Communities said: “We know that some customers have been frustrated with the lack of detail about service charge costs received in the past. We have listened and included clearer information about costs in your estimates, which you can expect to receive in February.

“Please continue to share your feedback as it helps us to continuously improve our service and ensures you get a better experience.”

Estimated service charges for shared owners and leaseholders

We’ll write to you again to let you know the actual annual cost of your service charge for 2024/25 in the autumn.

If our estimate is too low, we’ll charge you any additional money you owe us. You can get a refund if our estimate was too high.

Shared owner rent increases

Each year, we usually increase shared ownership rents in line with the Retail Price Index inflation, set out by the government Office of National Statistics, in September of the previous year, plus 0.5%.  Your booklet will tell you how much you need to pay.

Rent increases for social housing tenants and supported living customers

We’re regulated by the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH).

The regulator makes sure A2Dominion, and other housing providers, set their rent the same way, and that customers can afford them. This is called the Rent Standard.

Your booklet will tell you exactly how much you need to pay. This amount is fixed. This means the amount you pay for the year won’t change after we’ve made our estimates, regardless of actual costs.
