If you're a student living in A2Dominion accommodation, it's important to understand your rights and responsibilities when it comes to moving out, transferring rooms, or renting your home.
Moving out early
You can choose to move out of your student accommodation before your tenancy ends. However, because your agreement is for a fixed term (usually until mid-August), you won’t receive a refund for any unused time. You don’t need to give notice, but you should inform your A2Dominion accommodation office and return your keys when you leave.
Renting out your accommodation
Students are not allowed to sublet their accommodation. You can only rent out a property if you own 100% of it and your lease explicitly permits it. If you're considering moving for any reason, speak to your accommodation office, there may be alternative solutions available.
Transferring to another room or home
If you're experiencing issues with your current accommodation that are affecting your well-being, reach out to your A2Dominion accommodation office. They will assess your situation and, if appropriate, help you transfer to a different room or property.
Going away temporarily
If you plan to be away for a while or move out early, it's important to let your accommodation office know. This helps them manage your tenancy and support you appropriately.
