White goods recall notice update

If you own a washing machine or tumble dryer, it might need to be replaced or repaired.

The Whirlpool Corporation has recalled certain models of washing machine and tumble dryer, including models by other brands.

This is because some devices have a fault that can make them overheat and catch fire.

We asked you to check your devices earlier in the year, but if you’re a washing machine owner it’s important that you now check again.

If you own a washing machine

As of 29 April 2020, another 21 models have been added to the washing machine recall.

Even if you checked your washing machine earlier this year, please check again to make sure it isn’t included in the new recall list.

Your machine may need repairing or replacing if it’s made by one of the following brands:

  • Hotpoint
  • Indesit

Your appliance is not affected if it's under the Whirlpool brand.

To check if your washing machine is affected, visit the recall page on the Whirlpool website.

If you own a tumble dryer

Your tumble dryer may need repairing or replacing if it’s made by one of the following brands:

  • Hotpoint
  • Indesit
  • Creda
  • Swan
  • Proline

Your appliance is not affected if it:

  • Has a ‘green dot’ sticker in the door area or on the rear of the appliance
  • Is under the Whirlpool brand
  • Was bought brand new after 1 January 2016

To check if your tumble dryer is affected, visit the recall page on the Whirlpool website.
