What is Universal Credit?

Since 2013, the Government has been making changes to the way benefits are paid, including introducing Universal Credit.

Universal Credit is being introduced in stages across the UK, and brings together a wide range of benefits into a single payment. The amount you get is based on your household’s level of income and other family circumstances.

Your Universal Credit payment is paid directly to you, and this includes the amount that you receive to pay your rent. You then have to pay your rent directly to A2Dominion. You may be able to claim Universal Credit if it has been introduced to your borough.

For the most up-to-date guidance on Universal Credit, please visit the Universal Credit section on the GOV.UK website.
